What are you wearing?

Just as we dress ourselves at the beginning of each day in preparation for the events of that day, so too, and most importantly, we should dress our spirits at the beginning of each and every day with the armour of God.

We are victorious as soldiers in the army of God, for we know our battle is never against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12).  We never contend with individuals or personalities but with the powers and spirits that influence them.

Ephesians 6:14-19 clearly outlines the armour of God with which we are to dress ourselves each day.

As born again Bible believing Christians our loins are girth about with Truth and our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of Peace.

When speaking about the shield of Faith, the Word of God says: “Above all, taking the shield of Faith with which we shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the enemy”.  The word ‘taking’  suggests it’s an ongoing action.  We are to continuously use our shield of faith to cast down, destroy and extinguish all the fiery darts of the enemy.

Faith, as we may know, comes by hearing and hearing the word of God.  When we listen to or study God’s word we are making sure we keep our shield in place so that none of the enemy’s fiery darts can get through to us.

We are also to put on the helmet of Salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. Again, ‘Praying’ suggests an ongoing action; We are to pray in the Spirit continually;  ready and willing to intercede for all the saints.

MESSAGE:  We are to continually keep our shield of Faith up and continually pray in the Spirit, interceding for all the saints.
