The True Power of Us
The Power of The Lord's Prayer, The True Power of Us
Jesus modelled how we should pray as one:
"Our Father"
As children of God we should pray corporate prayers, meaning, we should pray for everyone rather than just for ourselves. God is Our Father, We are One under God.
"Give Us"
We all have needs and should pray that the needs of our neighbours are met. They are just as important as our own needs.
"Forgive Us"
We have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). None of us are perfect and we need forgiveness as we do make mistakes from time to time. We should pray that we are all forgiven as we forgive those who trespass against us.
"Lead Us"
We are all susceptible to temptation; therefore we should pray for all to be strong and through the grace and strength of Almighty God, resist temptation. In this way many transgressions will be avoided.
"Deliver Us"
We all need God's guidance and protection. Christ came to save us all from our sins and set us free. We should pray that His precious blood continually protects and covers us all. In this way we can all walk in unity and in freedom.
Through the Lord's prayer Jesus is clearly revealing and confirming that we are all one. When our neighbour hurts we too are hurt even if we are unaware. When our neighbour prospers we too benefit from their prosperity, even if we are unaware.
This is what makes love the key; when we love our neighbour as we love ourselves we are in fact recycling love back to ourselves.
Today, more than ever, we need to pray for each other. We need to love each other as we love ourselves so that Love is greatly manifested in the Earth.
MESSAGE: It's never just about you or me; it is always about Us
